Grace Hsieh is a classically trained pianist and educator who began her musical journey through the Suzuki Method at age five. As a young performer, she appeared four times at Carnegie Hall and performed at the United Nations Building as an award winner of the World Piano Competition.

At Yale University, Grace continued to pursue music at a high level while earning her degree – performing as a pianist and violinist, singing in ensembles through the Yale School of Music, and founding the Berkeley College Senior Arts Night. She was awarded the Berkeley College Arts Prize for her artistic leadership.

Grace has extensive experience teaching children, including Suzuki piano instruction for ages 5–12 and volunteer work with music therapy and education programs. Her service has included teaching music to children in rural, underserved communities in China, as well as contributing a pro bono branding project for Music Will, a national U.S. nonprofit expanding access to music education in public schools.

At Grace Notes, Grace creates a supportive, engaging learning environment where children build strong musical foundations, confidence, and a lifelong appreciation for music. Her teaching emphasizes patience, structure, and joy: meeting each child where they are while encouraging steady growth.

Piano Recordings

These pieces, which comprise a compilation titled Grace Notes, were recorded at the Cleveland Institute of Music as part of Grace’s college application process.

The program reflects the repertoire, discipline, and interpretive foundations shaped through years of classical piano study – with early training rooted in the Suzuki Method.
